TURKEYS IN THE TRUNK 2020

NOVEMBER 21, 2020 – Noon to 1PM
THANKSGIVING FOOD DRIVE

Join us Saturday, November 21, 2020 from 12 PM to 1 PM at the Harper storage facility, directly across Parkside Drive from Harper Porsche. With support from Harpers Porsche, is sponsoring its third annual Thanksgiving food drive with proceeds to benefit the Salvation Army and the Knox Area Rescue Ministries

Ever wonder how much food that you can stuff in your Euro car?

Following the Thanksgiving Food Drive and Prize Award, we will host a Day Drive along scenic and curvy roads through Lenoir City, Loudon, Sweetwater, Kingston, and then back to Farragut with a rest stop midpoint of the drive.  Day Drive details:

  • Start/Ending Point: Harper’s Porsche (The Hub)
  • Departure Time: ~1:45 PM (following Turkeys in the Trunk)
  • Route Length: ~90 Miles
  • Total Time Including Rest Stop: 2 hours, 45 minutes

Please RSVP to Bob Baugh at baughbob@yahoo.com if you plan to attend the Day Drive with car make, model, color and cell phone.

In 2019, we collected nearly 3,000 pounds of food.  This year, we want to collect even more and set a new record! To help meet this goal, this event is being opened to all makes and models of Euro cars.

Simply load your Euro car with frozen turkeys and other Thanksgiving dinner type food items and then drive your “stuffed” car to Harpers on Saturday, November 21st between 12:00 and 1:00 PM.  Be creative and load your front trunk, your back trunk, roof rack, passenger foot well, back seat, cargo area, etc.  You’d be surprised as to how much food you can actually stuff into your car!  Volunteers will be on hand to assist in the unloading and weighing of the food.  The person bringing the most food in each category will win a special prize donated by the Smoky Mountain Region PCA.

A lot of food! Thanks to all!!

In the interest of fairness, there will be three categories:

  • 2-seat models,
  • Coupe/4-door,
  • SUVs.

In addition, cash donations will be accepted at this event and checks can be made out directly to either the Salvation Army or the Knox Area Rescue Ministries.

Come join us!  This is a fun event and it’s a great way to help kick off the Holiday season, socialize with great friends and to benefit those less fortunate.

We hope to see you as we provide much needed support to those less fortunate in our community. National and SMT Region PCA COVID Protocols will be in place.
**Please wear a mask as social distancing during Turkeys in the Trunk may not be possible.**
