Thanksgiving Food Drive
Join us Saturday, November 23, 2019 from 12 PM to 1 PM at the Harper storage facility, directly across Parkside Drive from Harper Porsche.
Ever wonder how much food that you can stuff in your Euro car?
Give it a try and find out!
The Smoky Mountain Region PCA, with support from Harpers Porsche, is sponsoring its third annual Thanksgiving food drive with proceeds to benefit the Salvation Army and the Knox Area Rescue Ministries. In 2018, we collected over 2,600 pounds of food. This year, we want to collect even more and set a new record! To help meet this goal, this event is being opened to all makes and models of Euro cars.
Simply load your Euro car with frozen turkeys and other Thanksgiving dinner type food items and then drive your “stuffed” car to Harpers on Saturday, November 23rd between 12:00 and 1:00 PM. Be creative and load your front trunk, your back trunk, roof rack, passenger foot well, back seat, cargo area, etc. You’d be surprised as to how much food you can actually stuff into your car! Volunteers will be on hand to assist in the unloading and weighing of the food. The person bringing the most food in each category will win a special prize donated by the Smoky Mountain Region PCA.
In the interest of fairness, there will be three categories:
- 2-seat models,
- Coupe/4-door,
- SUVs.
In addition, cash donations will be accepted at this event and checks can be made out directly to either the Salvation Army or the Knox Area Rescue Ministries.
Come join us! This is a fun event and it’s a great way to help kick off the Holiday season, socialize with great friends and to benefit those less fortunate. Following weigh-in, we will drive to a local restaurant for lunch.
