Rich and Wendy headed up a weekend trip to the Banner Elk area, with some good food, good drives, and good times. Friday started with 9 cars, 3 wrecks (thankfully none of us), “picnic lunch” in a crowded parking area, with fog, wind, and cold as an added bonus.
On Saturday, there were still 9 cars – sometimes together – but waaaay too many leaf watchers. Did they not know these are “our” roads? Sun, beautiful vistas, windy, narrow roads. We stopped for some shopping at the Mast General Store, and had a great lunch at Rascals on Beech Mountain. Then we topped off the weekend with lots of wine and SEAFOOD LASAGNA!!! Great cars. Great times. Great friends.
