Our Fourth Annual Turkeys in the Trunk event was this last Saturday from 12 PM to 1 PM. We had great weather, a good turnout, and a good time was had by all. Thanks to Harper Porsche for hosting this event at their new Harper Auto Wash facility. They even offered a free car wash to all that donated!
We descended on the back lot and volunteers commenced to unloading and weighing the donations. Proceeds were donated to both the Salvation Army and the Knox Area Rescue Ministries. And the Final tally was:
- over 2,600 pounds of food collected
- 67 turkeys and 21 hams collected
- cash donations collected totaling $3,000!
And our winners Of Eurotech Knoxville gift certificates were:
- SUV Class: Vic Rola
- Coupe Class: Steve Wise
And we even made the Funny pages! WVLT Channel 8 came out and shot some footage and had some interviews.
After the event, 11 cars saddled up for countryside drive out through Sweetwater and around. Once again the Smoky Mountain Region delivered! Thanks to all that donated and helped. And big thanks to Bob and Penny Baugh for setting this up.
