Our 2nd annual Turkeys in the Trunk event was this last Saturday from 12 PM to 1 PM. We descended on Harpers auxiliary building across from the dealership, and volunteers commenced to unloading and weighing the donations. Proceeds were donated to both the Salvation Army and the Knox Area Rescue Ministries. And the Final tally:
- 2530 pounds of food and $800 in cash contributions
- Included in total was 49 turkeys and 4 hams
- Winner was Jamie and Rebekah at 453 pounds
- Second place was John and Linda at 395 pounds
Thanks to Harpers for the use of their facility and graciously donating a $100 gift certificate to the winner. After the event, we met at the Parkside Grill for lunch and fun! And we even made the Funny Papers!
