March 06, 2021 – Meeting at noon on at the Hardee’s in Vonore (what is with this Region and Hardee’s?), we gathered 50+ people in 30+ cars and did The Paperwork, Drivers’ Meeting, and split up into three groups to keep it manageable. Bob and Penne laid out a very nice Figure Eight route through the scenic and sometimes offbeat mountain roads of East Tennessee.
Roads like TN 360, TN 315, US 64 along the Ocoee, and then TN 68 back “home” offered some scenic beauty, historic farmhouses and barns, geology, and some righteous twisties to check out some new “summer setups”. On much fresh pavement to boot!
No incidents, well placed pit stops, and beautiful weather made this one a HIT! Many thanks to Bob and Penne, and to all the group leaders and sweeps. Next one is in the works, TBA for April!
