DAY DRIVE OUT PIZZA PARTY SEPTEMBER 2020

We did a Day Drive and Pizza Party in Maryville area. We met up at The Clubhouse, signed the papers, got our wristbands, had some coffee and donuts and chatting. Then we got briefed, then hit the rode promptly at 10ish. Weather was overcast, sunny, overcast, sunny, and at times we were literally driving through clouds. First we climbed Chilhowee Mountain to the Foothills Parkway, then took the parkway from Look Rock area to the new end in Wears Valley.

Stopping at few overlooks, the weather was more cooperative, and the views were amazing. After the parkway we took Wear Cove Gap Road to Metcalf Bottoms for a pitstop. We followed Little River Gorge Road back to Townsend (Curse you Minivan from Ohio!!), and another pitstop at Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center to discuss rocks and jams and gems and such. Back in the saddle, we hit the Foothills Parkway again for the run back to The Clubhouse and PIZZA!

We ate, drank, and made merry for a while, then cleaned it up and headed home. Was a good drive, a fun meal, and a great time! Thanks to Tim & Sandy for setting up The Clubhouse and Pizza (and donuts and coffee), and thanks to Clyde for laying out a great drive route!
