November 3 & 4, 2018
Well it is almost here. Our fun filled weekend for fall. There are four events for the club to enjoy. They are:
Saturday November 3, 2018:
Heritage Day at Harper’s Porsche. This event is scheduled from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm on Saturday, November 3. It will be the introduction of the new Porsche Cayenne with refreshments and opportunities to drive this new Porsche. Please plan to attend.
Drive Out. Our afternoon drive out will begin at 12:00pm with the drivers meeting at 11:30. The trip will be just over 200 miles and more details are attached below. Please eat lunch before you leave or bring a snack to enjoy on one of our rest stops. (Dinner will be at 7:00 pm after we return) If you plan to attend this drive out, please email Peter Lepir at plepir@msn.com and let him know.
(Note: The Drive Out is not a rain or shine event. Peter will let us know on Saturday morning if it is necessary to cancel it. Should it be necessary to cancel the drive out, the dinner and social will NOT BE CANCELLED.
Also, please do join us for the dinner and social at 6:00 pm whether you participate in the drive out or not.
Dinner and social. We will return to the Chop House for cocktails and dinner. The address is 9700 Kingston Pike across from Audi of Knoxville… Another Harper dealership. Cocktails will be at 6:00 pm with dinner at 7:00 pm. If you plan to attend the dinner, please email Louise at lth3232@gmail.com so we will know how many to expect. This is always a great time.
Sunday, November 4, 2018:
Autocross… Splash Country parking lot, 2700 Dollywood Parks Blvd., Pigeon Forge, TN 37863
- The drivers meeting for the autocross will be at 9:30 am with the first car off at 10:00 am. Another great fun event.
- Remember that we return to eastern standard time on November 4 (FALL BACK!).
- Cars run the course (one at a time) in an effort to get the best time. Great fun for beginners and veterans alike and it will not damage your car. Drive only as fast as you wish.
- The fee will be $40.00 per car. Please let Janis Berry at janis_berry@att.net know if you plan to participate.

Fall Fest 2018 Drive-out Details
Our Fall Fest drive-out will be on Saturday, November 3rd this year. Coinciding with the Harper Porsche Fall Heritage Day celebrating the all new 2019 Cayenne, we will gather at the dealership and begin the drive-out at noon. The drivers meeting will be at 11:30 am. The Harper celebration is scheduled from 9AM til noon. They will be serving complimentary coffee and pastries, rides and demonstrations. So stop by before the drive-out and join the celebration.
The drive-out will take us thru Loudon and then south to Vonore and Tellico Plains on our way to Field of the Woods in Murphy, NC. For those not familiar, it is a relaxing park-like setting with a religious theme, or just a nice place for a 45 minute break. There is plenty of parking, covered pavilions, restrooms, interesting things to see, plus a café and gift shop. Check out the web site (www.fieldsofthewood.net).
After a break, we will head toward Reliance and then up thru Etowah and Madisonville on the way back. The drive will end around 6:00 PM at the Chop House on Kingston Pike, with refreshments and dinner following.
Detailed drive-out route will be forthcoming. It will be about 215 miles in total and about 6 hours. Please note: This is not a rain or shine event. In the event of poor weather, I will advise via e-mail that morning about cancellation and possible rescheduling. Please e-mail me, plepir@msn.com if you are planning to attend, no later than October 31st. Also include cell #, and what model and color car you will be driving. I will send the roster and more detail once finalized.
