Driving Tour November 2021

Please mark your calendars for Saturday, November 13th, 2021, for a great day of driving through the Smokies to Robbinsville, NC. Our destination will be club members’ Jason & Madeline Blom’s cabin. They have arranged for a special catered meal from the Aroma Café in Maryville. We will be treated to a typical Cuban meal with white rice, plantains, choice of red or black beans, grilled chicken or peppered steak, and an empanada of cheese, shredded chicken or ground beef.

Since we’ve had a couple of drives this year that took us on the Tail of the Dragon and the Cherohala Skyway, we thought we’d mix it up a bit and travel through Newfound Gap, Cherokee, and Bryson City on Hwy 19. The return trip can be any route of your choosing. Plans are to meet at the Suntrust Bank in Alcoa at 1107 North Hall Rd at 9:00 AM. Following a brief driver’s meeting, we will depart at 9:30 AM. Our estimated arrival time in Robbinsville will be 1 PM. Please note that tour details are currently being worked and subject to change.

Please contact Bob Baugh at baughbob@yahoo.com to RSVP or for questions. The RSVP deadline is 10/31/21. Please include the names of those in your party, a cell phone number, and car information (year, model & color). The cost of lunch is $15 per person. Please make checks payable to SMT PCA and send them in advance to Bob Baugh at 413 Moser Lane, Knoxville, TN 37934.
