Beat the heat and come enjoy an exciting drive over “The Big Mountain Loop”.
The drive will begin at Sequoyah Landing Marina in Vonore, TN. We’ll head out on Hwy 72 to Hwy 129 towards Deal’s Gap (The Dragon) arriving early to beat the traffic. We’ll then catch Hwy (Moonshiner) 28 and pick up Yellow Creek Rd for 12 miles of some really nice back country roads, where we will then pick back up Hwy 129 with a short ride to Historic Tapoco Lodge for lunch.
After lunch we’ll continue on Hwy 129 to enter the Cherohala Skyway in N.C. and enjoy 50 miles with no traffic lights and elevation climbs over 4,000 ft. to Tellico Plains, TN. We’ll then jump on Hwy 360 for our final destination to Sequoyah Birthplace Museum where the drive concludes.

NOTE: Groups larger than 10 people at Tapoco Lodge incur a setup expense. While not mandatory, we would appreciate a small contribution ($5 – $10) to help offset this expense and to minimize a financial impact to the club.
Please respond to Jack no later than August 10th if you are attending so that he can coordinate the headcount with the restaurant and secure additional tour leads and sweeps as needed.
