LET’S DRIVE OUT FOR LUNCH (whadda ya say…)
Put Saturday, 01.31.15, on your Porsche calendar. Carol and I are putting on a short drive for lunch. After all, if you want a good Smoky Mountain Region event, just mention food!
Our destination is the Hale Springs Inn (www.halespringsinn.com) in Rogersville, TN. The Inn will open for us at noon and that’s about the time we’ll be getting there.
We’ll meet at the Rest Area on I-40 East, about one mile east of Exit 417. Our meet time is 10:00am. Once we sign off on PCA’s required docs, followed by a short safety meeting, we’ll be off. We’ll run I-81 north to Exit 23, and then head toward Bulls Gap, and then north toward Rogersville.
The Inn is opening for us exclusively so we should have great seating!
Once finished with our meal, we’ll run some back roads to I-81 and end the drive at the Rest Area at about the two mile marker, just before I-81 merges into I-40.
It’ll be a short run in both directions but should be fun. We’re hoping for decent weather, but as always, if it is inclement, we’ll cancel the event.
Now… if that’s not enuff to entice you… here’s the menu, and it’s fifteen dollars per person all inclusive:
- Sweet Tea Marinated Fried Chicken
- Mashed Potatoes with Gravy
- Vegetable Medley
- Rolls with Butter
- Cup of Tomato Bisque Soup
- Tea, Soda, Coffee, Water
