Saturday, April 29th, to Luftwasser in Brevard, NC
Please mark your calendars for Saturday, April 29th. We will be driving over to Brevard, NC to attend Appalachian Region’s Fifth Annual Luft Wasser. For those not familiar with this event, please use the link provided to learn more about it. Luft Wasser is a charity event put on by the Appalachian Region PCA. Organizers anticipate over 200 Porsches descending upon downtown Brevard that Saturday.
For more information and/or to register, please email Steve Franklin. As usual give Steve your names (driver & passenger), cell #, and color, year, and model of your Porsche. For those who did not register directly with the Appalachian Region, Smoky Mountain PCA is organizing a separate driving tour of our own to the event. We will depart from the I40 east rest area at mile marker 420 (near Dandridge). We have about 68 miles on the interstate to Waynesville and then depart for the twisty NC 276 (part of the Copperhead Loop) thru Pisgah National Forest for the remaining 40 miles into Brevard.
Arrival time at 1-40 rest area is 7:00am with 7:30 departure time.
Brevard is a fairly small town and parking will be hard to find. Not to worry though as Steve has arranged reserved parking of our own at Grace Brevard church. As a means to express our appreciation for use of the parking lot, we are requesting each car make a $25 donation to the church. Recognize that if you’d registered for Luftwasser through the Appalachian Region, the cost would have been $40!
In downtown Brevard, participants can enjoy great restaurants, shopping, and P-Car viewing until 2:00 pm. Return will be on your own.
Registration for Luft Wasser itself will open on March 15th at 12:00 PM. Please refer to the link for details on how to register and what the event offers you as a participant. For those that would prefer to participate in our driving tour and attend this event as spectators, we will be sending out details on how to register after Spring Thing.
This will be a really fun drive to a really nice little North Carolina town with good restaurants and shops as well as 200 Porsches to peruse! We will go interstate 40 to Waynesville and then about 40 miles of curves to Brevard where we will just find a parking lot and then join the other Porschephiles in Brevard.
