Hello members of Zone 3!
I hope you and your families are well. Even with a year of such unusual circumstances, the Zone has had net positive growth year to date through May and we stand at 8,505 primary members. In fact, Zone 3 is representing well as you can see in the National Membership Contest as of May:
Recently, the National staff had virtual meetings during the weekend that would have been Parade. I thought you might be interested in a few updates:
Parade
- National awards for 2020, traditionally given at Parade, will take place in four, 1 hour YouTube like videos (kind of like virtual banquets) later this year as early as August. More details to follow.
- Parade 2021 will be the 65th Parade (2020 will be forgotten in the count) and return to French Lick July 11-17, 2021 and in the words of someone who knows the venues, the best Parade he has attended predominantly because of the care of the staff.
- 2022 Parade will be announced this summer
Treffen
- Treffen Greenbriar will open Registration at 3pm EDT July 15
- Spring 2021 will be Scottsdale, AZ at Marriott Camelback Resort May 5-8, 2021
- Fall Treffen will be The American Club Kohler, WI October 13-16, 2021
- Spring Treffen 2022 will be Broadmoor Resort in Colorado Springs, CO dates TBD
Membership
- Although the club is at positive net growth through May we are off pace from 2019 levels. May looks to be improving back toward 2019 levels and so is June
- Avg member age is 57
- According to a recent Anniversary date search, as of May 2020, there are 321 members with 50 years, 84 with 55, and 21 with 60 years of membership!
Porscheplatz/Corrals for IMSA Races
- As of this writing and subject to change, there will be a Porscheplatz at Lime Rock Sep 11-12, Petit Le Mans Oct 14-17, Laguna Seca Oct 30-Nov 1, and Sebring Nov 12-14.
- Expect a very different environment: no paddock access, no driver presentations, probably an open area with no walled tent, unknown about refreshments, No in and out privileges to the track, masks while on property, temp checks on entry, limited concessions. More details to follow
General Business
- PCA is projecting a break even year which is outstanding for this year’s challenges
- 4 Taycans will be raffled off
- The Mart on pca.org has been revamped and the Panorama Mart will change in August to a new format to work better with new the online version
Your Region websites will be even more critical to check for event information especially as local ordinances will probably change over the next few months.
As always you can check the Zone 3 Website calendar (HERE) for large events but the local Region website is always the go to for all events happening in a given Region. A handy source for all Region website’s in Zone 3 is located HERE.
Stay well. Until we can meet again….Rod
