We had a day drive on some fun roads to Kingswood Home in Bean Station, TN. We met at the Pilot station on Rutledge Pike, handled the paperwork, saddled up and hit the road. Found some twisty roads with funny names, made a Pit Stop at Cherokee Dam, then found some more fun roads on the way to Kingswood.
We got there, lined up the cars, let the kids look at, sit in, and even let a few fire them up. Then we took turns tooling them around the campus in the cars. Many ear-to-ear grins ensued. We lined up Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers, and had some great, fresh burgers and some nap-inducing Frozen Custard for dessert.
We finished up about 1 PM and many took a leisurely countryside drive home. Thanks to Rich and Wendy for setting this up!!
History Note: Onsite as you enter Kingswood there is Tate Springs, the last remaining piece of the Tate Springs Resort, previously one of the finer resorts east of the Mississippi. Read an article about the resort, and the spring house.
